Where we stand
DraftMates is a game of skill played for pride, not cash — and that’s a deliberate choice, not a loophole.
DraftMates is not a real-money gaming (RMG) platform. No contest entry fees, no rake-based competitions, no prize pools, no KYC for play. You never pay to play, and we never take a cut of anything.
There are no entry fees, no prize pools, and no rake. DraftMates leagues are played for pride, bragging rights, and the pull of a season-long rivalry — not cash. There is nothing to deposit and nothing to withdraw, so there is nothing to lose. We don’t hold your money because we never take it.
Holding no rake and no entry-fee contests keeps DraftMates outside India’s real-money gaming (RMG) framework and the 28% GST that has squeezed cash-contest operators since 2023. But the reason we built it this way is conviction, not tax treatment: we didn’t want a platform that profits when you lose. Skill, strategy, and a good season are the whole point.
A DraftMates league is a season, not a slot machine. You build a squad in an auction, set your XI, and follow it for months — the opposite of a daily-churn contest engineered to pull you back every night.
Every stat comes from the ball-by-ball record, computed in SQL — not estimated, not editorialized. Skipper, our AI coach, narrates and explains the numbers but never invents them. What you see on a scorecard or a standings table is what actually happened on the field.
Your league, your players, and your history stay yours. We run the platform; you own the league. There is no KYC to clear before you can play, because there is no wallet to verify — just a game.
If you’re evaluating DraftMates for a company, club, or tournament and need this in writing for a due-diligence review, we’re happy to help.
